![]() ![]() This also means that you're less likely to get plates without jungle ganks (if you can get the ganks then great, Nunu's passive + Demolish can secure a lot of tower pressure but the jungler will probably need to help you push) This means that you're often getting pushed in. Waveclear - Nunu's waveclear is terrible, except for being great at securing cannons. Often though, you can catch an enemy off-guard and win the early laning phase. ![]() Safe laning - Having strong sustain and being incredibly difficult to dive makes Nunu's lane feels pretty safe, if sometimes passive. Secondary smite - When contesting objectives like Baron and Dragon, having a back-up smite is handy and a well-timed Q can comfortably steal or secure these objectives.Ĭrowd control - with a massive AoE knockup/dash interrupt, a massive AoE slow and an AoE root, Nunu has a huge amount of CC that allows him to get some real lockdown in ganks and fights. Roaming - having solid mobility with W means Nunu can roam and reach fights quickly and easily, being able to put out damage and provide CC for allies. Running Approach Velocity also often allows you to catch up to an enemy top laner even after they've flashed. Gank follow-up - being a naturally good lane ganker makes it very easy for Nunu to follow up on jungle ganks, W E and R providing plenty of CC. Sustain - Q max makes Nunu almost impossible to poke out of lane and with Aftershock allows him to break even if not win trades. Second Tree: Magical Footwear, Approach Velocity (sometimes Manaflow Band/Gathering Storm or Celerity/Waterwalking for late-game scaling or roaming) ![]() ![]() Below I've outlined the runes that I take, as well as what I personally think are the pros and cons of Nunu top and what I feel counters Nunu top.įirst Tree: Aftershock, Demolish, Conditioning, Revitalize (I've run Conqueror + Overheal before and while it isn't the worst for aggressive laning it isn't worth trading the tankiness and utility away. Either way I've enjoyed abusing Nunu's dumb sustain and watching people turn around after planning to dive just to see a dying yeti heal up most of its health. I don't play ranked much though I did spam him to Gold 5 in a few days at the end of last season, pretty sure part of the reason why it's worked for me so far is because not that many people in low elo think to build Executioner's Calling + MR and end up getting outsustained and outdamaged. 7 mastery champ and I got it pretty quickly as well (4 weeks or so), and spammed him for months ever since. Until very recently I've spammed Nunu in top lane, building RoA/Liandrys into full tank with decent success. ![]()
